Rescue Mode exists for one situation: an exam is close and covering the full syllabus isn’t realistic anymore. It asks how much time remains, collects per-topic understanding, and returns a time-boxed plan — calculated, not generated.
Rescue Mode’s prioritization is a relative “where will this hour help most” score, built from readiness, urgency, and time cost. It is explicitly not a predicted-marks estimate.

How it works

  1. Time remaining — how long until the exam.
  2. Syllabus rating — the student rates each topic as Good / Partial / None (at least five ratings to proceed), with a bulk “set all” option and a quiet “Not in this exam” exclude per topic. Ratings stay temporary until the plan is reviewed and applied.
  3. Allocation — rated topics are split into Must / Should / If-time categories against the student’s real available capacity, with a same-day cap so nothing is scheduled beyond what they actually have.
  4. Apply — once reviewed, the plan becomes real scheduled study tasks. Retrying never double-applies.
  5. Adapt — the plan adjusts automatically after real session outcomes and availability changes, instead of requiring a manual redo.

Interface

  • A chapter accordion with per-topic Good/Partial/None rating, a whole-chapter bulk-rate option, and a quiet per-topic exclude.
  • A progress counter and search that auto-expands any chapter with a match.
  • Goal cards for choosing a focus before generating the plan.
  • A review screen grouping results by Must/Should/If-time, color-coded, before the student commits.
